Cooler and drier air will remain over the region today. This drier air will lead to an increased Fire Weather Danger this afternoon across the Nature Coast into Pasco County as well as interior and southern West Central Florida. Residual swells from the strong westerly flow overnight will continue to generate breaking waves along area beaches today increasing the threat for rip currents. A secondary but dry cold front will move across the area tonight. Behind this front high pressure will move across the Southeast U.S. with low level flow off the Atlantic which is expected to bring a slight warming trend later Friday and Saturday.
A large trough of low pressure is expected to set up shop over the eastern US, which will send a series of pulses of seasonable/cool weather into western Florida. The first front will arrive Sunday. Gusty north winds, rough seas, a few showers, and critical fire weather will accompany the front.
